National Association for the blind (NAB) organized one day seminar on “Accessible Reading & Writing Solutions” in association with Saksham Foundation on 25th September, 2016. The seminar was inaugurated by Ms Nishu Singal, Director Social Welfare, Chandigarh. Sh Dipendra Minocha, himself a visually challenged person and Chairman of Saksham Foundation and Daisy Forum of India (DFI) was the key speaker of this seminar.140 visually challenged from Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh and teachers from various institutions attended this seminar. The objective of the seminar is to make visually challenged end users, educational institutions and government policy makers aware of various options for reading and writing independence for persons with blindness or low vision. A revolution has happened in this field. However, the number of users taking benefit of this is very less due to lack of adequate information about available options. This seminar addressed this problem.
