NAB Institute for the Blind and an Eye Care Centre
At NAB Chandigarh, we believe empowerment goes beyond education and employment. We nurture the creative, physical, and emotional well-being of Persons with Disabilities through inclusive programs in music, theatre, and recreation, fostering confidence, self-expression, and social inclusion.
Our special performing group, “Divine Eyes,” brings together 15 visually impaired artists showcasing remarkable talent in singing, acting, and instrumental music. They have performed at prestigious platforms including the Rose Festival, Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh Club, and Haryana Raj Bhawan, earning widespread appreciation.
Through these artistic expressions, NAB not only celebrates talent but also promotes awareness, inclusion, and acceptance, breaking barriers and inspiring the community to see ability beyond disability.
In addition to promoting competitive sports, the National Association for the Blind (NAB) actively encourages recreational and cultural activities that nurture confidence, creativity, and social inclusion among persons with disabilities.
NAB regularly organizes All India Dance Competitions, “Cooking Without Looking” contests, and Fashion Shows for Visually Impaired Girls, providing participants with an inspiring platform to showcase their talents, express their individuality, and challenge societal stereotypes.
These engaging initiatives go beyond recreation—they serve as powerful tools for building self-esteem, independence, and community participation, reflecting NAB’s holistic approach to empowerment that integrates education, sports, and culture for the overall development of persons with disabilities.
