Melodies of Inclusion Mega Cultural Event at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh on 10th April 2026

The Melodies of Inclusion mega cultural event was a resounding success, celebrating the spirit of diversity, talent, and togetherness.  Organized by NAB supported by TaskUs, the event provided a vibrant and inclusive platform for persons with disabilities to showcase their abilities and creativity. The evening featured captivating performances by talented visually impaired singers, whose powerful voices left the audience spellbound and reinforced the message that talent transcends all barriers. A major highlight was the Inclusion Fashion Show, where persons with disabilities confidently walked the ramp alongside members of the TaskUs leadership team, symbolizing unity, empowerment, and shared commitment towards inclusion. More than just a cultural program, the event stood as a meaningful initiative promoting dignity, participation, and equal opportunities—leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.

Inclusive Chess Event 2026

INCLUSIVE CHESS EVENT On March 27, 2026, NAB organized an Inclusive Chess Event with the support of TaskUs. This initiative was more than just a tournament; it was a vibrant platform for interaction, equality and mutual learning. It was an grand event, successfully arranged by TaskUs management. Our visually impaired participants thoroughly enjoyed the experience, finding the atmosphere both welcoming and empowering. TaskUs team’s enthusiasm in chess event was truly amazing and heartwarming.  This event was a powerful showcase of NAB’s mission: empowerment through excellence. While the matches displayed our players’ strategic mastery, the day was further elevated by a captivating musical performance by our talented artists, proving that our community leads the way in both intellect and creativity. Thanks to the partnership of TaskUs, we were able to create an environment that was not only inclusive but truly transformative for all participants.

Holi Celebration 2026

The colors of Holi brought joy, laughter, and togetherness to the NAB Institute for the Blind. Our students celebrated the festival with great enthusiasm, filling the campus with music, smiles, and vibrant colors. The celebration was a beautiful reminder that festivals are not just about colors, but about inclusion, friendship, and shared happiness.Moments like these strengthen confidence, build connections, and create joyful memories for our students with visual impairment.

International White Cane Day Celebrations

National Association for the Blind (NAB) celebrated “International White Cane Day” on 14th October, 2016 at Aasha Kiran Vocational Training Centre for Differently Abled, Sector 46 D Chandigarh by holding First ever Fashion show and Talent Hunt contest amongst the visually challenged. Participants were from Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal.16 Visually challenged girls participated in a first ever fashion show at Chandigarh for their final selection to represent NAB, Chandigarh and Punjab in Princess India contest at Mumbai. In other event of talent hunt contest for visually challenged, skills were evaluated in: Computer learning, Braille learning, Music, Dance, Declamation and public speaking, Overall Personality development and acting. Cash prizes were given to 24 individuals and 2 group songs selected by a panel of judges.

THREE TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR VI

Certificate distribution of Computer course organised with Govt Polytechnic for Women under CDTP scheme. 17 visually challenged and 43 girls were awraded certificates.

National Association for the Blind in association with NIVH organized following short term training programs: ·         “Orientation to Reproductive Rights” on 19th November, 2016 ·         “Fire Safety and Eathquake Drill for VI students on 17th January, 2017 ·         “Training in use of Modern Assistive Devices” from 17th to 21st January, 2017.
